The Artitude Climate Festival is a free, community-led celebration that aims to inspire and engage attendees in the realms of art, climate action, and the circular economy. With an impressive lineup of partners and collaborators, this event promises to be a transformative experience for all involved.

Showcasing Creative Solutions to the Climate Emergency:

The Artitude Climate Festival serves as a platform to highlight creative, community-led responses to the pressing issue of the climate emergency. By collaborating with organisations such as The Gathering, Zero Waste North West (ZWNW), Northern Ireland Resources Network (NIRN), Environmental Justice Network Ireland (EJNI), and Making Relatives – a group of water and land protectors from Lakota Nation, US – the festival brings together diverse perspectives and expertise to address the challenges we face.

Originating from The Playhouse’s Artitude:

A Climate, Culture, and Circularity project, the festival represents a pivotal component of a unique and transformational program. Through the power of art and creative practice, this initiative aims to engage communities in the DCSDC area in exploring climate action and the circular economy. The ultimate goal is to inspire positive behavioural change among individuals and communities.

Collaborative Efforts:

The Playhouse collaborates with several esteemed partners to coordinate and deliver an 18-month program leading up to the festival. Zero Waste North West, Northern Ireland Resources Network, Queens University Belfast, Derry City and Strabane District Council are instrumental in utilising the arts as a means of fostering engagement and understanding. Together, these organizations contribute their expertise to create a powerful platform for change.

The Power of Funding:

The Artitude Climate Festival and the accompanying program are made possible through the generous support of The National Lottery Community Fund. This funding enables the festival to provide a free, accessible experience for all attendees, fostering inclusivity and community participation.
